Bitcoin heist on Twitter

(Summary)

Last week, hackers succeeded in compromising influential accounts on Twitter in order to gather money from followers through Bitcoin. The hackers tweeted to ask followers to pay money in Bitcoin and they claimed that senders could gain doubled money. They deleted the Tweet within an hour but succeeded in collecting $110,000 worth of Bitcoins without trace. Twitter is working on figuring out the nature of the attack and ways to prevent similar frauds from occurring again.

(My Signal)

I predict this kind of crime will turn more complicated. I’m also afraid that hackers will aim at people’s charitable spirits. If hacker hi-jack famous charity activists’ accounts and ask donations to their followers on social networks, this might be as gullible as followers who received damage for hackers. One of the point of this time fraud is that they asked to pay money through Bitcoin. This indirect payment might make difficult to trace them. We should constantly stay on the outlook for this kind of crime. I hope people’s good will never be used by these nasty hackers.

Kenya connects through Google’s "balloons"

(Summary)

In Africa 78% of population didn't have access to the Internet in 2019 owing to several obstacles like tough landscapes, high cost of developing telecom infrastructure and limitations of thechnology.
Google and Kenyan telecommunications provider, Telkom, have launched internet powered balloons. These solar-powered balloons provide 4G connectivity and will cover wide area in central and western Kenya and allow users to access the Internet including emails and YouTube with about 35 balloons.
The downsides to work on from now on are to extend usable time and to drive the balloons' position accurately.

(My Signal)

I predict that Google will overcome the problem about controlling balloons' directions by developing their machine learning technology.

As for limitation of usable time, they will improve quality of solerpower butteries to store the energy as well.
These tasks look to be solved in not so far future and it's a reason why they have continued the Loon project.
On the other hand, Google, Facebook and other companies have been working on improving submarine cables to improve internet connectivity. They're already working and had technical fault occurred.

It is certain that African internet connection will be improved more with various ways of infrastructure.

I'd like to image how Africa will change by the telecom infrastructure. But honestly I don't know the reality of recent African lives and what they really want. The other day I had an opportunity to listen and talk to a Japanese woman who has been working for her own business in Rwanda through Zoom.

I'm gonna ask her what and how future Rwandan people expect by improving their infrastructure next time.

Japan’s new "disaster-proof" bullet train

(Summary)

Japan has frequently suffered from natural disasters through the years. The latest bullet train which was introduced this month has an innovative feature. The N700S has the inbuilt battery backup and can continue to roll when unforeseen natural disaster occurs in order to take passengers to the nearest safe zone. It means passengers will never get stuck in adverse locations. Moreover the N700S will enhance riding comfort which you have never experienced.

(My signal)

I predict that we Japanese use our potential about cons more effectively.

It cannot be said that the timing when the N700S debuted was the best due to COVID-19. However it must have made us excited and proud of Japanese technology.  This technology came from our geographic disadvantage.
We will be able to use our disadvantages for something not only on tangible things but also intangible things.

For example, Japanese people generally aren't good at speaking English, comparing to other countries'. However it could be advantage because Japanese try to show their kindness by behavior instead of verbal communication. It has possibility to make deeper connection through simple communication. Fortunately many foreigners are interested in Japasene culture. This might be a great tool in communication.

I reckon that we can a turn negative situation into a positive situation.
